About the Campaign

The Campaign for Real Choice in Illinois is a grassroots, citizen action organization consisting of people with disabilities, family members, friends and professionals. We are founded on the premise of participatory democracy and the belief that meaningful reforms in the system of supports for people with disabilities will come only with active involvement of people with disabilities and their families.

The Campaign believes that people with disabilities want to:

Live in their own place
Control what happens in their life
Have flexible supports to live as they choose

To advance these beliefs, the Campaign meets with decision makers, organizes media events, empowers people with disabilities to speak, and engages in actions.
